Improving the quality of your life by improving the quality of your sleep & health

Over 60 million Americans suffer from one of more than 80 different sleep disorders. These sleeping disorders can have a profound effect on everything from driving a vehicle, to work and school performance, to relationships with family and coworkers.

Leaving a sleeping disorder undiagnosed and untreated not only affects your life, but those around you. Your own health is jeopardized by increasing the risk of high blood pressure, stroke, heart disease and immune system damage. Others around you while driving or at work can be placed at risk by your fatigue, inability to concentrate, and rapid mood swings. Of course there is also the lack of sleep your sleeping partner may be experiencing due to chronic snoring.

Over night Sleep Study - (Polysomnogram) -  involves recording various functions including heart rate, breathing, brain activity and limb movement to evaluate a patients sleep.

MSLT (Multiple Sleep Latency Test) - often used to diagnose narcolepsy. Consists of a series of daytime naps that generally follows an overnight sleep study.

MWT (Maintenance of Wakefulness Test) - measures the ability of the patients to stay awake during the day time.

CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) and BIPAP (Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure) Studies - used to determine the proper masks and settings for equipment that will be used at home.

CPAP Acclimation Study (PAP-NAP) - is a daytime procedure, which will help initiate, improve or encourage the patient to complete a full night therapeutic study with PAP. The patient will work with our qualified sleep technologist who will perform:
    • Mask Fitting
    • Pressure Desensitization
    • Assess and Address Weak Emotional Processing Skills/Anxiety
    • Assess and Address Imagery Skills

VEEG (Video EEG) - is a more specialized form of an EEG test in which the patient is constantly monitored over a video screen. This allows doctors to observe brainwave activity during the time a seizure is occurring.

Ambulatory EEG - records the patterns of electrical changes both normal and abnormal, from the millions of nerve cells in the brain. Patients have the capability to walk around and carry on normal activities while recordings are being made.  This test typically lasts 3 to 4 days.
